International Katarzyna Mycka Marimba Academy IV

September 18th-27th, 2009 in Frankfurt/Main

  

The IKMMA will meet September 18th-27th in Frankfurt/Main in Germany.

The Academy is dedicated to the marimba and to friendship... bringing marimbists together for a collaborative experience.

Robert van Sice and Eric Sammut join Katarzyna in returning to this year's Academy. Katarzyna also welcomes Professor Rainer Roemer from the Music Academy in Frankfurt to the IKMMA, and Katarzyna's student, Shoko Sakai, will assist the program.

This year's Academy will host Ney Rosauro for two days, who will teach interested students and answer questions about his music.

Activities & Registration

Active participants have the opportunity to receive individual lessons for 40 minutes every day, play chamber music, and practice several hours, as well as perform at evening concerts. The number of active participants is limited to 32, and the registration deadline is June 30th, 2009. Active participants are welcome to bring their own marimbas, and will be provided with a practice room.

Passive participants are welcome to observe lessons and rehearsals, as well as the evening concerts. Daily visitors are also welcome!
