Ivana Bilic has made solo appearances with the Symphony Orchestra of the Danish Radio, Slovenian Philharmony, Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radio, Pannon Philharmony, Danubia Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists, Varazdin Chamber Orchestra, Croatian Chamber Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Split Navy Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Ivan Zajc Opera in Rijeka. She performs in international festivals (Music Biennale Zagreb, Musicora Paris, Melos Ethos Bratislava, Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Trieste Contemporanea, Tempus Fugit Tel Aviv, Julian Rachlin and Friends) and is a member of several chamber music groups. Since 1996, Ivana is first timpanist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radio and faculty at the Zagreb Music Academy. Ivana regularly records for Radio and Television. Ivana performs, arranges and co-edits new works for percussion. She regularly gives marimba and percussion clinics and masterclasses in the USA, South America and Europe (Festival de marimbistas, Chiapas, Mexico 2004; faculty at the Zeltsman Marimba Festival in Boston 2004 and Appleton 2007; guest artist at the Belgium Marimba Competition and Festival 2004; appearances at PASIC 2002 and 2006; jury member and clinician for PAS Italy Percussion Days; guest artist and clinician at Alcoy 2007 Percussion course in Spain). Ivana has received enthusiastic reviews for her performances of the Schwantner Percussion Concerto, MacMillan's Veni Veni Emmanuel percussion concerto, the Philip Glass Concerto Fantasy for Two Timpanists with Jonathan Haas and the Igor Kuljeric Marimba Concerto. Ivana is the author of several marimba solos and a duo published by Malletworks. She will also take part in the huge international commissioning project of ZMF New Music for Marimba, in association with C. F. Peters Corporation and Bridge records, as one of the few marimbists that will premiere and record the commissioned works. Ivana's new signature line of Marimba One mallets premiered at the 2008 Frankfurt Messe! AWARDS In 1998, Ivana received the Best Young Croatian Artist Award and was awarded with Milka Trnina for best concert performance in 2003. She also received two Porin Awards - the prestigious Croatian Discographic Award - for best performance in the classical field: - 2001: for her debut solo cd Follow Me (she also performed on the Final TV Show) - 2004: for her solo appearance in the Marimba Concerto by I. Kuljeric on the cd Igor Kuljeric - Contemporary Croatian Composers
