In the early 1980's, Ron Samuels fell in love with the sound of the marimba. He spent his next years acquiring the woodcraft and design skills that would enable him to make a world class instrument.
Ron spent years listening to concert marimbas, studying their evolution, and talking to percussionists about their ideal marimba sound.
Pursuing that shared ideal, Ron developed his theory of balanced keyboard "voicing," and began to craft the world's first voiced keyboards.
Today, Ron and the marimba one artisans continue to work with musicians worldwide to create the finest concert marimbas and professional mallets that can be made. marimba one is grounded in the belief that each and every marimba should be custom designed and handmade for each musician: an instrument of art.
