Traditional/Basso Bravo

We select only fine rosewood bars to craft our Traditional Keyboard that is the Marimba One signature sound: warm, deep, evenly balanced across the keyboard. Combining Traditional Keyboard with Basso Bravo resonators boots the bass end to a more powerful and darker sound. The Basso Bravo is flawlessly blended into the keyboard so that the voicing is smooth and balanced.

Traditional/Basso Bravo Reviews

The marimba arrived on Friday and I spent that evening unwrapping - you guys sure know how to pack!

The instrument sounds absolutely beautiful and looks stunning. It is such a pleasure to play. The whole experience from emails to phone calls to actually having the instrument arrive at my door was wonderfully pleasant and exceptionally organized - everyone I've talked to at Marimba One really knows how to make their customers feel valued.

Thanks so much,

Matt Torcellini

After taking delivery of our Marimba One the first thing that strikes you is the sheer craftsman ship of all the component parts and the incredible ease of assembly. Unlike many percussion instruments with many parts, the Marimba One just fits together like a perfect pair of the finest gloves – first time!

We had opted for the Basso Bravo resonators and these really do produce the truest and most pure bass notes I’ve ever heard on a marimba. That irritating ‘pingy’ harmonic of the bottom end notes are now a thing of the past leaving just a full bodied, rounded bass resonance.

This is an instrument of the highest quality and beauty and has made a big impression on our students with many of them saying ‘it really makes you play better’!! What more could I want?

It sounds amazing.  The Basso Bravo resonators truly provide a very resonant bass sound unlike many other models of marimbas.

The middle and upper range sings beautifully. Thank you so much for making this instrument possible for us at Longy! I am sure that many students and teachers are going to benefit to be working with such a good instrument for the years to come! -- Sylvie Zakarian

The instrument is BEAUTIFUL and I have no reservations in saying that it is the nicest (M1 or otherwise) that I have ever played on. The new bass resonators (Basso Bravo) are awesome and the low octave is truly astounding. I love the instrument and am SO impressed with the work that you guys do!

The sound quality is BETTER than I ever had expected. Thank you so much, Marimba One!

Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you that we are really enjoying the new marimba.

It sounds great!   The  bass sound with those new resonators (Basso Bravo) is fantastic.

Thanks again.

"Ron, thank you so much, our new 5-octave Marimba One is absolutely breathtaking sounding and has quickly become an integral part of our percussion ensemble rehearsals and performances. The students and I absolutely love this beautiful instrument!"

We recently purchased a marimba from Southern Percussion in the UK. What wonderful service we received from Katy and her family. What a superb instrument-as we now say at home this is no ordinary marimba, its a Marimba One marimba! Matthew, our son, is delighted with it, the sound, the build quality, and the first class attention to detail. We were sorry we couldn't make your seminar in London - maybe next time when you are across- how about a trip to Ireland? Its great that you have Southern Percussion in the U.K promoting your products. Once again many thanks

I am not given to overstatement.  And as a former Kori endorser and marimba artist, I have played a lot of marimbas- at conventions, instrument shows, other universities, clinics, performances.  And before I purchased my own Marimba One instrument, I personally auditioned all of the major brands.  So, not to boast, but I feel like I have as well-founded an opinion as most anyone regarding instrument quality.  The marimba you built for us is without a doubt the very finest quality instrument I have ever seen, anywhere, for any price.  The Basso Bravo resonators do exactly what you advertise, of course, but the entire keyboard is balanced, and resonant, down to every single bar.  It is also an exceptionally beautiful instrument.  The mahogany is flawless and rich.  My own grand piano in my home is mahogany, and this marimba belongs right next to it.  The challenge now will be to get any of my students to practice on any OTHER instrument here!

I just wanted to pass that on- I could not be, in any way, more thrilled with the instrument you built for us.  Half seriously, of course, I will tell my colleagues from now on, that if God is a marimbist, He (She?) is playing a Marimba One.
