Bridgeland HS Percussion
Established in 2017, the Bridgeland High School Band is a 6A program consisting of nearly 400 students across wind, percussion, and colorguard. Located in Cypress, Texas, within Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, the program has quickly established itself as one of the premier high school band programs in the state. The Bridgeland Marching Band is a consistent Bands of America Regional finalist and has been named a finalist at the BOA San Antonio Super Regional in 2023 and 2025, as well as a finalist at BOA Grand National Championships in 2024. The program has advanced to the 6A UIL State Marching Championships in San Antonio for six consecutive years, including State Finals appearances in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, the band was awarded the prestigious Sudler Shield by the John Philip Sousa Foundation and, in 2025, was selected as a demonstration ensemble for the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention in San Antonio. The program also maintains five concert bands, all of which have earned UIL Sweepstakes ratings every year since the school’s opening. Additional highlights include a 2023 Mark of Excellence Commended Winner designation for the Wind Symphony and a performance with the Bridgeland Symphony at the 2023 Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
The Bridgeland Percussion program has experienced tremendous growth and success across both its concert and competitive ensembles. The program’s Indoor Percussion ensemble competes in both TCGC and WGI, performing in the Percussion Scholastic World (PSW) classification and earning three WGI Percussion Scholastic World Finals appearances, including a Silver Medal at the 2025 WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. The ensemble is also a two-time TCGC Scholastic World Class State Champion. Bridgeland’s broader percussion program has earned recognition beyond the high school level as well, with the Salyards Middle School Percussion Ensemble receiving an invitation to perform at the 2022 Midwest Clinic, becoming the first percussion ensemble from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD to receive this distinction.
