Marimba One Artists

Tristan Pereira is a French percussionist born in Reims in 1996. Recognized as one of the emerging voices of his generation, he has developed a multifaceted career as a soloist, orchestral musician, and educator.

He began his musical studies at the Reims Conservatory before continuing his training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where he studied with distinguished percussionists Gilles Durot, Jean-Claude Gengembre, Florent Jodelet, and Jean-Baptiste Leclère. He graduated with both the Diplôme National Supérieur Professionnel de Musicien (DNSPM) and a Master’s degree in Percussion.

A prizewinner at several international competitions, including the Greece Percussive Arts Society Competition in Athens (2016) and the Italy Percussive Arts Society Competition in Montesilvano (2017), Tristan gained early recognition for his artistic commitment, musical sensitivity, and distinctive artistic voice.

He regularly performs with some of France’s most leading orchestras, including the Opéra national de Paris, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées. This orchestral activity remains a cornerstone of his artistic life, continually enriching and informing his musical approach.

Alongside his orchestral work, Tristan has established a growing presence as a solo performer, with a particular focus on the marimba and contemporary percussion repertoire. Through recitals, premieres, and original artistic projects, he seeks to highlight the expressive possibilities of percussion and to engage new audiences with its richness and diversity.

Deeply committed to music education, Tristan Pereira is equally passionate about sharing his experience with younger generations, dedicating an important part of his work to teaching, mentoring, and fostering the development of emerging musicians.
